Hector Pietreson Museum & Memorial

Situated in Orlando West, Soweto, the Hector Pieterson Memorial and Museum stands as a powerful tribute to the brave students who took part in the 1976 Soweto Uprising. Located just two blocks from the site where 12-year-old Hector Pieterson was tragically shot and killed on 16 June 1976, the museum honours his legacy and that of countless others who fought against apartheid.
